THE MOTHER CABRINI MERCY PRIZE

Annual Prize for Immigration Scholarship

Mother Cabrini

“Dear God, give me a heart that can embrace the universe.” – Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini

The Mother Cabrini Mercy Prize is awarded every November 13th to one or more persons for excellence in immigration scholarship and advocacy.  That is the Feast Day of America’s first saint and the Patroness of Immigrants.  Mother Cabrini was a great champion of the Catholic social justice tradition of mercy for migrants and others in need.

The Mother Cabrini Mercy Prize Foundation is an independent private charity affiliated with Georgetown Law School and the Georgetown Immigration Law Journal. After the death of the Foundation’s founders, its assets will be donated to Georgetown to perpetuate the Prize and to fund clinical legal programs for immigrants and refugees.
